Let’s talk about breastfeeding hunger. I don’t know if anything could’ve prepared me for just how hungry you get. It didn’t matter if it was 2am, my stomach felt like a bottomless pit. It felt like I was always hungry but had zero time to prep anything, let alone sit down for a meal so having easy snacks to grab was key.
Snacks became my lifeline. I needed quick, nourishing, one-handed options that I could eat while nursing baby in the middle of the night or during the day while my husband was at work.
Here’s a list of the breastfeeding snacks I actually ate in those early months postpartum! These snacks are not only filling but yummy and easy!

LMNT Electrolyte Packets
I drank these like nobody’s business those first few months. Breastfeeding made me SO thirsty, and LMNT was the only thing that really quenched it. My favorite flavors are raspberry, watermelon, and grapefruit!

Chomps Beef Sticks
Easy protein. No prep. No mess. These were a staple. I kept a couple in the diaper bag, the car, my nightstand. You can find them laying around anywhere in my house and car really. They’re made with grass-fed beef and don’t have any junky ingredients.

Mush Overnight Oats
Ready-to-eat oats that are actually tasty? Yes, please. These are cold, creamy, and full of whole grains and fiber — perfect when you’re running on 3 hours of sleep and need something real.
I loved grabbing these during nap time or late-night feeds. Blueberry and vanilla bean were my go-tos. Lately our Costco has had these for a great price!

Berries
So simple, but so satisfying. Washed strawberries, blueberries, raspberries — I kept them ready in the fridge at all times. One-handed snacking for the win, and packed with antioxidants to support postpartum healing.

Frozen Mango
My favorite icy sweet treat. I’d eat these straight from the freezer like little tropical popsicles. They were perfect for summer postpartum days when I wanted something refreshing, fast, and fruity.

Perfect Bars
Cold, creamy, and packed with protein. These bars were my go-to when I needed something more substantial than a snack but didn’t have time for a full meal.
The Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter flavor always made me feel like I was indulging while still fueling my body.

Equip Prime Protein Powder
This one was huge for me. I added a scoop of Equip Prime Protein (beef isolate protein) to smoothies, oatmeal, or even stirred it into yogurt. It’s super clean, with minimal ingredients and 21g of protein per scoop — perfect for recovering postpartum and staying full between meals.

Protein Balls
I kept a batch of homemade or store-bought protein balls in the fridge at all times. They’re easy to make (oats, nut butter, protein powder, honey, flax seeds), and you can just grab one or two between nursing sessions for a quick energy boost.

Heavenly Hunks – Chocolate Chip Oat Bites
Okay, these were my treat snack. A little sweet, super chewy, and totally addictive. They’re made with oats and coconut, so I liked to pretend they were kind of healthy (wink). Definitely one of my favorite middle-of-the-night nursing snacks.

Chobani Complete Protein Yogurt Drinks
I loved these for their grab-and-go convenience. Packed with protein and probiotics, they were a great option when I needed something light but still filling — and they didn’t upset Oliver’s tummy, which was a win!
I usually kept a couple chilled in the fridge for easy sipping.

Final Thoughts
If you’re breastfeeding, snacks are more than just a craving, they’re how you are going to survive haha. Your body is working hard to nourish your baby, and you deserve to nourish yourself too. These were the snacks that kept me fueled, satisfied, and feeling semi-human during that newborn blur.
Prep a few of these ahead of time or keep them stocked in the pantry or fridge! Your future self will thank you.
